Ingredients
Chicken - I prefer to use chicken breast when I make this recipe. After all, you can easily cut this into cubes!
One disadvantage is that if you cook chicken breast too long, it can become a bit dry.
Chicken thigh is also a great choice. This not only has more flavor but is also a lot cheaper.
Boursin - this is the star of the dish! We all know the classic flavor with garlic and herbs, but you should also try one of the other flavors, like pepper.
Onion - I prefer plain yellow onions when making this recipe.
Stock - for this recipe, it is best to use chicken stock. You can make this yourself or make the broth with bouillon cubes.
Vegetable broth is also a good choice!
Butter - Butter gives the Boursin chicken an extra full creamy flavor. You can replace the butter with oil or plant-based butter, such as margarine.
How to Make the Perfect Boursin Chicken at Home
Start by seasoning the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3-5 minutes per side.
Next, transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and add some extra oil to the pan if it seems dry. Cook the onion until translucent, and add the stock and Bousin cheese.
Stir until everything is completely combined, and you have a smooth sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens before adding the chicken.
Put the chicken back into the pan and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Serve your Boursin chicken hot with your favorite sides, like roasted vegetables or rice pilaf. This easy-to-make recipe will impress even picky eaters at your dinner table!

What to serve with the chicken with
- Mashed potatoes. I don't like to add extra calories, so I'll like to serve this chicken with mashed potatoes without milk
- Rice or orzo
- Pasta
- A healthy salad like my spinach salad or beetroot salad is a great way to add extra vitamins and complete your meal
- Fresh vegetables like broccoli or green beans
Equipment
You don't need a lot of equipment to make this recipe. You only need a large skillet, a measuring cup, and a cutting board.
Storage
Chicken with Boursin cheese will keep in the fridge for about two days. Cover the dish with plastic wrap to prevent the flavors from leaking!
You can also freeze the chicken.
In the freezer, the chicken stays good for about six months.
Take it out of the freezer well in advance and let the Boursin chicken thaw slowly in the refrigerator.
You can reheat the dish in a pan on the stove or microwave. Add a little water or milk if the sauce becomes too thick while heating.
