Gyros seasoning is a Greek spice mix with oregano, paprika, cilantro, and parsley. This mix is all you need to make delicious chicken gyros!

Ready-made seasonings often contain a lot of salt, so I prefer to make them myself. You can easily adjust them to taste by adding less chili pepper.
I usually make the mixes that I regularly use myself.
You can also buy herbs and spices online. This is much cheaper, especially if you make several mixtures at once!
You can also buy spices in large quantities at the market.
How to use this seasoning?
How much seasoning you add depends on how spicy you want your gyros meat to be. I always add 2-3 tablespoons of gyros seasoning to 1 pound or 500 grams of chicken.
Needless to say, you can also season other meats with this mix. Replace the chicken, for example, with pork chops or beef cut into strips.
Equipment
To make this seasoning, you don't need much equipment. Besides the herbs and spices, all you need are (measuring) spoons, a dish, and an airtight container.
I personally prefer to use small mason jars or old empty spice jars for this.
It is also a good idea to write on it what spice mixture it contains. You can do this with a marker, but these labels are also great!
Storage
Spice mixes stay good when sealed for at least a year if you keep them in a cool, dark place. After that, the quality of the flavor deteriorates quickly, but you could still use them.
