This hot toddy with vodka only takes 20 minutes to make and is the perfect warming drink. All you need is water, spices, and vodka.

Why you will love this recipe
Warming. Like German gluhwine hot toddy is a spiced warming drink perfect for a cold winter day.
Easy to make. All you have to do is warm the spices with honey and water before adding the vodka. That's it!
Feeds a crowd. This is a recipe for one, but you can easily adjust or double the recipe!
One thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to double the cinnamon! Just one stick for about 4-6 portions before adding another.
Ingredients
Vodka - traditional hot toddies are made with bourbon or whiskey, but I like to add vodka.
Make sure you add a vodka you like to drink.
honey - to sweeten this vodka cocktail, you need to add a little honey.
If you want a vegan hot toddy, you can replace the honey with for favorite syrup.
Cinnamon - warming spices kike cinnamon and ginger are the perfect ingredients for this drink.
I recommend using a cinnamon stick. You can use ground cinnamon, but I don't like the texture it gives to the hot toddy.
Ginger - as with the cinnamon, I recommend using fresh ginger. This is easy to remove and gives more flavor to the recipe.

Instructions
Making a hot toddy is super easy! Like gluhwein, you make this drink by slowly heating the water to infuse it with spices.
Start by adding the water, honey, lemon, and spices to a pot and let it come to a boil.
Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes. Don't add the vodka yet! You don't want to lose the alcohol.
Take out the cloves, ginger, and cinnamon, or strain them before adding the vodka.
Stir in the vodka and pour the hot toddy into glasses.
Tip: warm the glasses before serving to keep the drink nice and warm!
My tips to make the perfect hot toddy
Make it right before serving. You want your drink to be hot!
Low heat. Let the water simmer on low heat to give the spices time to develop their flavor.
Add the vodka last. You don't want to add vodka while cooking. The alcohol evaporates when it gets hot.
Strain. To filter out any small pieces of cinnamon or clove, it is best to pour it through a sieve before serving.
Equipment
To make this recipe, you will need a measuring cup, a small saucepan, and glasses.
Storage
While a hot toddy is best when you serve it immediately, you can keep it in the fridge for about two days.
Reheat it on the stove before serving, and add the vodka last.
