Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whisky
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 egg whites *optional
  • Pinch cinnamon and nutmeg

Instructions

  • Heat the milk with the cinnamon and cloves until it starts to simmer.
  • Mix the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla well in a bowl. Do this in a heatproof bowl because this is where you pour the hot milk.
  • Pour in the hot milk and keep stirring so the yolks won't curdle.
  • Pour the egg mixture back into the pan and heat over low heat until it thickens.
  • Once it starts to thicken, turn off the heat and pour it through a sieve into a pitcher.
  • Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the drink cool completely.
  • Serve with whipped cream and sprinkle some more cinnamon on top.
