Why you will love this recipe

  • You only need three ingredients to make this recipe.
  • 3 ingredient pie crust is perfect for savory and sweet pie recipes.
  • You can make this recipe in advance.
  • It's the best recipe for a buttery, flaky crust.

Ingredient notes

Flour: There is no need to buy fancy flour. All-purpose flour works perfectly for this recipe. You can substitute half with whole wheat flour to make it a little healthier, or to make your pie crust gluten-free, use oat flour instead.

Butter: Salted butter is my secret ingredient for this three-ingredient pie crust. Butter gives the quiche crust a wonderfully buttery and flaky texture, and since we're using salted butter, there's no need to add extra salt to the dough! If you prefer, you can substitute the salted butter with unsalted butter or vegan butter, but you may need to add ¼ teaspoon of salt for flavor.

TIP: Did you know it is super easy to make butter at home? All you need is a mason jar and heavy cream!

Storage

Wrapped in cling film, you can keep the savory pie dough in the refrigerator for a few days. Your dough may be a little hard if it has been in the refrigerator longer, so take it out of the refrigerator on time. Knead the dough again and process it as you always do.

You can also freeze it. Properly wrapped, it will last about six months in the freezer.
