Ingredients

  • 2 apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  • Peel and core the apples and cut them into small pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the apple with the sugar and cinnamon over low heat until the apple becomes soft.
  • Pour in the milk and bring to a boil.
  • Add the oatmeal to the boiling milk, turn down the heat, and cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes until the oatmeal and apples have softened.

Notes

  • Add some chopped nuts or seeds for a little crunch!
  • Apple cinnamon oatmeal is at its best when it is freshly made, but you can keep it in the fridge for about three days. Keep in mind that the oats absorb most of the moisture, so you need to add a splash of milk before heating it up on the stove or in the microwave.
