Ingredients
Melon - cantaloupe is my go-to melon when I make this salad. The mild, freshly sweet flavor pesters perfectly with the salty ham.
If you don't like cantaloupe, you can also use Galia or watermelon for this salad. If you make balls of different melons with a special melon ball spoon, your salad will be extra festive.
Prosciutto - prosciutto is an Italian raw ham from Italy. You often see this ham in recipes with melon or recipes for bruschetta.
You can also use serrano ham or prosciutto for this salad.
Greens - greens like arugula have a nutty, slightly bitter flavor that makes them a perfect match for the sweet cantaloupe and the creamy mozzarella.
Mozzarella - if you want to make it extra easy on yourself, you can use mozzarella balls.
Balsamic reduction - this dressing is made by boiling down balsamic vinegar until you have a thick sweet dressing. You can buy this ready-made in the supermarket, but you can also make the balsamic reduction yourself.

How to make a prosciutto and melon salad.

Equipment
- Salad bowl to serve the melon salad.
- A knife and a cutting board.
- You can use a melon ball spoon to scoop small balls out of the melon.
Storage
You can keep a salad with melon in the refrigerator for about two days. I recommend keeping the fruit and ham separate and not assembling the salad until the last minute.
